On May 25, 2013 at the Armavirskay experimental station took place the regional seminar on "The peculiarities of winter rapeseed cultivation in the Krasnodar region", organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and processing industry of the Krasnodar region in collaboration with the Institute of Oil Crops.
In the seminar's work participated more than 70 experts from the Stavropol region and 17 disticts of the krasnodar region, including the head of plant growing department of the Ministry of Agriculture and processing industry of the Krasnodar region, Shevel S.A.
The seminar's program included:
Gorlov Sergey Leonidovich - the head of the department of oil crops breeding, candidate of agricultural sciences, - "The prospects of winter rapeseed production in the Krasnodar region";
Zaitsev Nikolay Ivanovich - the head of the Armavirskaya experimental station of VNIIMK, doctor of agricultural sciences, - "The technology of winter rapeseed cultivation for seeds";
Gorlov Sergey Leonidovich - the head of the department of oil crops breeding, candidate of agricultural sciences, - "The peculiarities of carrying out protective measures on the winter rapeseed";
- demonstration of sowings of winter rapeseed at the Armavirskaya experimental station;
- consultations of VNIIMK experts on cultivation technology of winter rapeseed.
The varieties of winter rapeseed of VNIIMK's breeding were presented by the main specialist, doctor of agricultural sciences, Bochkaryova Emma Borisovna. The early-ripening variety Meteor is distinguished by the high rates of growth and development in the autumn and spring periods of vegetation. Another early-ripening variety Elvis has minimum yield losses due to resistance to pod shattering. The mid-ripening variety Loris is the most winter-hardy and the most resistant to lodging. The late-ripening variety Drakon is distinguished by the delayed growth and development during the early spring period that considerably reduces the risk of frost lesions of sowings.
All introduced varieties of winter rapeseed are non-erucic, low-glucosinolate (00); ensure getting of oil and seed meal of quality of worldwide standards; have high rates of seed productivity and oil content, are technological and adapted to the conditions of regions that cultivate rapeseed, leveled on the height, flowering and ripening vigor.
